Hadley is here!

Well, we did it! We are actually parents. Forever. 24/7. WOW.

Hadley arrived after being in labor for six hours on November 23rd at 10:56 A.M. She weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces and was 19 inches long. It was a great labor and we had no problems while at the hospital.

For the last three weeks David and I have been in a fog... several sleepless nights, countless hours of feeding, changing mustard diapers, entertaining family, assuring our other child (Albert) that we still love him, laundry, Christmas preparations, and of course adoring Hadley. We knew life would change but we really had no idea.

For example, since Hadley was born all I wanted was to get a shower before lunch time. Between feeding, laundry, washing bottles, and pumping (yes, that is all) I can not get it done. I don't know what I am going to do when I start back to work. For the first week I think Albert was worse off than David and I. My perky, happy dog was an honest zombie. He was blindsided by this life changing event. And David has never been one to lounge around the house, but he has no problems doing it now as long as his little girl is right next to him.

Our home now feels more like a "home" if that makes sense.

Thank god she is a wonderful baby! No fussiness, healthy as a horse, and very happy.

Thanks for the post! Six hours of labor, are you for real? That is incredible. And yes, having a baby/kids DOES make your house feel like a home. And I've said it before but I will tell you one more time -- these are the hardest, most time consuming weeks. It will work out when you start teaching again. Seriously, once they hit about eight weeks everything starts to smooth out, then by four months you will be getting much more sleep/better schedules, etc...

She is beautiful. Enjoy the holidays with her!

Foxy mama...you guys are doing great! It's amazing that something so little can consume two adults 24 hours a day!

She is so beautiful! Congrats again. You'll start to get into a routine, but the first few weeks are pretty hazy. I call Isabelle my little time sucker. Taking care of baby is a full time job!
